The pain didn’t go away—it just got quiet

Your Connection Guide

This Week in the Connection Codes

Reader,

I’ve spent so much of my life in my head.
Thinking through everything.
Strategizing. Rationalizing.
Even trying to logic my way through pain.

But over the past few years, I’ve realized something profound:

My body always knew first.

Before I had words, before I could identify the emotion- my body was already sending the signal.

I can even look back to moments where I had a gut instinct and I didn't listen. Whew- then I was so mad at myself for not listening to my "gut." Those were emotions trying to guide me, but I didn't know how to tune into their signals.

This week on the podcast, I’m joined by one of our lead coaches (and dear friend), Echo Hill Vetter- the brilliant, trauma-informed voice who helped take Dr. Glenn’s ideas and get them into the hands of the world.

She just got back from a life-changing training with Dr. Bessel van der Kolk (author of The Body Keeps the Score) and we sat down to unpack what it means to truly listen to your body.
... To stop overriding your signals.
....To stop stuffing emotions that will show up later—whether in your back, your stomach, your sleep, or your relationships.

Echo said, “I’m not just tuning into my body. I’m letting it guide me.”

And I felt that in my bones.

We talk about how:

  • Trauma isn't always dramatic—it's often stored in the body
  • The importance of listening to your body's basic needs
  • Practical steps to "feel your feelings" physically
  • Challenging self-abandonment for emotional healing

Whether you’re walking through chronic pain, anxiety, burnout, or numbness- this episode will feel like a deep breath of relief.

You don’t have to fix everything today.
You just have to start listening.

💡 Here’s something to reflect on:

"When was the last time you truly listened to what your body was telling you? What did you learn?"

Remember, your body holds wisdom. By tuning in, you're not just improving your health—you're deepening your capacity for connection in all your relationships.

Your Connection Guide This Week in the Connection Codes Reader, I’ve spent a lot of my life waiting. Waiting to feel ready.Waiting to know for sure.Waiting until I had every answer, every resource, every “green light.” But the truth? Clarity never came from waiting. It came from doing. And this week’s podcast hit me right in the gut- because Chris Cruz puts words to something I felt previously but didn’t know how to say:“Clarity is found in motion.” Chris joins Dr. Glenn and Phyllis to talk...

Your Connection Guide This Week in the Connection Codes Reader, I’ve spent so much of my life ignoring my body. Pushing past the fatigue. Dismissing the tension. Treating it like a machine that just needed to keep going. I never thought of my body as something to listen to- let alone honor or thank. It was just… there. Dragged along for the ride. But one thing Bridgett Blood shares in this week’s episode has stuck with me:“My body knows before my brain does.” She talks about how she’s learned...

Your Connection Guide This Week in the Connection Codes Reader, I found it an hour before going on stage.A lump. I was about to speak at a dream event, with another two full days of back-to-back events ahead of me, including two presentations. And I made the split-second decision…Just ignore it. There was nothing I could do about it in that moment, right? But the fear sat heavy in my chest like a weight. And I told no one. (Sorry, Mom! You found out this way 🙈) The first day, I was able to talk...
